After twenty-five years working within the video and film industry in New York City, Jonathan Lees has materialized in the Hudson Valley to explore more personal rituals and inscribing arcane texts such as "We Have (Never) Been Here Before" in The Rack (Vol. II) and “To What Do We Owe This Pleasure” from the Bram Stoker Award nominated, Long Division: Stories of Social Decay, Societal Collapse and Bad Manners.

Other stories in print include: “They Are Still Out There, You Just Can’t See Them Anymore” in the Shirley Jackson Award-winning anthology, The Hideous Book of Hidden Horrors, “It Comes in Waves” from the Shirley Jackson & World Fantasy Award nominated, Other Terrors: An Inclusive Anthology, and “Power Out, Wind Howling” from Even In The Grave, which received an Honorable Mention in Ellen Datlow’s The Best Horror of the Year: Volume Fifteen.

His new novella, AUGUST, is currently being shopped to publishers while he is at work on a new novel.

Jonathan is currently available for video consultation, supervision, series creation, directing, writing, editing and other facets of original, documentary, editorial, advertising, social, and audio/video production through his LLC, DOCUMENTIA.

In addition to constructing Complex Media’s first full-fledged editorial and marketing video department, he was hired at TIDAL to focus on creating new series, refreshing existing series, and defining the role of video at the company.

He has worked with thousands of artists and creatives over his sixteen year career in production and twenty-five year career in film programming, management, and distribution.

Jonathan currently volunteers his time as the director of the FINAL FRAME Film Competition for the Horror Writers Association and their annual event, StokerCon, which has currently run for ten years.

In 2025, he received the Silver Hammer Award at the Bram Stoker Award Ceremony in honor of his decade dedicated to enriching the Horror Writers Association.
